  • The Commonwealth Government has committed $380 million to its Mobile Black Spot Program over six rounds, with the objective to extend and improve mobile phone coverage and competition in regional and remote Australia by co-funding new telecommunications infrastructure.
  • The $10 million South Australian Mobile Phone Black Spot Fund was established to leverage the Commonwealth Government’s Program and work with telecommunications providers to maximise the impact of the state’s investment.
  • To date, the Government of South Australia’s Mobile Phone Black Spot Fund has committed to addressing 45 mobile phone black spot locations in regional South Australia, with over $8.15 million committed from the Fund towards mobile infrastructure in regional and remote South Australia.
