- Poonawatta, a boutique winery in the Barossa Valley, will receive $100,000 under the Tourism Industry Development Fund.
- The project will see a new cellar door developed on a dam bank, overlooking the water and tree canopy. Visitors will be able to taste the wines on offer at Poonawatta, while being immersed in nature.
- Poonawatta currently only offers tastings by appointment at the estate’s homestead. The new cellar door will allow the winery to cater for drop-in and casual tastings and will also offer tours of the vineyards, tasting flights and gourmet platters.
- This project will significantly boost Poonawatta’s capacity, allowing them to welcome more guests and attract more people to the region.
