  • This project will develop a world-first genetic test for objectively verifying clonal identity in Pinot Noir, taking advantage of state-of-the art sequencing and bioinformatics tools developed for Chardonnay clonal identification by the Australian Wine Research Institute, which demonstrated for the first time, genetic authenticity testing of commercial grapevine clones.
  • The State Government has provided $55,000 through the South Australian Wine Industry Development Scheme (SAWIDS) for this $247,440 jointly funded project.
  • The $1.3 million SAWIDS supports projects that build capability of the South Australian wine industry through initiatives that promote competitiveness, productivity and innovation.
