The Murray Coorong Trail project will develop a multiuse trail over 450km stretching along the iconic Murray River, Lakes and Coorong waterways from Cadell in the South Australian Riverland to Salt Creek in the South Australian Coorong National Park. The goal is to create a recreation trail that is accessible to people of all ages, including young families, children and the elderly, as well as attracting special interest groups, cycling enthusiasts, nature-lovers and tourists.

This design and development project will build on the findings of the feasibility study to produce a detailed design plan for the Murray Coorong Trail. Sustainable trail design requires a detailed understanding of trail sustainability principles and designs, the trail users and types, appropriate construction methods and techniques and long-term trail management. A specialist trail designer will be engaged to do this work.
