This grant will help construct the first 7.5km of an approximated 14.9km shared path (walking/cycling shared path) to connect the coastal towns of Wallaroo and Moonta.

With Moonta just announced as the top tourist town in South Australia, this is another initiative that will add to the tourism experience. The project will create a continuous and off road shared path, increasing user safety in both towns, and a high-quality outdoor and adventure facilities that will increase the community’s physical activity and accessibility to unstructured open spaces.

The Wallaroo to Moonta Walking and Cycling Shared Path Project delivers on the community’s need for improved passive and active recreational infrastructure and construct key open spaces and fit for purpose shared path infrastructure in the Yorke Peninsula Region.
