  • The Town of Gawler has been announced to receive $900,000 from the State Government's Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program.
  • The project upgrades key community sporting infrastructure that supports organised sport and also provides local open space area for the local community to undertake passive recreation activities.
  • Infrastructure that will be provided as a result of this project includes: a baseball diamond suitable for Division 1 Baseball with new efficient underground irrigation and associated fixed infrastructure including new LED sports lighting and player shelters; a softball diamond with new efficient underground irrigation and associated fixed infrastructure including new LED sports lighting and player shelters; a playing surface upgrade to existing soccer and shared turfed areas with new efficient underground irrigation and associated fixed infrastructure.
  • The Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program was established to support councils to accelerate spending on community infrastructure projects that contribute to the future economic growth of the region, or support the Government’s Growth State agenda, or improve local infrastructure facilities for businesses and community organisations to enable them to grow in the future, or upgrade key community facilities.
